“PIKES PEAK FEATS AND FIBS” OPENS FOR PREMIER OF TRAVEL CHANNEL SHOW

Manitou Springs, CO – (May 18, 2015) – The Manitou Springs Heritage Center will open its newest exhibit titled “Pikes Peak Feats and Fibs” on Friday, May 22nd just in time for the premier of the Travel Channel’s Mysteries at the Museum episode featuring one of the artifacts and stories from the exhibit. The museum’s doors open at 6:00pm. “Mysteries at the Museum” begins at 7:00pm and the public is invited to watch the Heritage Center’s episode with us!

Since its recorded history, Pikes Peak has been the inspiration for both tests of courage and willpower – the Feats – and the imagination – the Fibs. The Heritage Center’s newest exhibit takes a look at a number these stories.

Board President David Walker was spent a day with the film crew from the popular television show some months ago and is featured in the episode. “It was fun and interesting to see behind the scenes what goes into this kind of a production.” stated Walker. “The Heritage’s Center’s segment on Mysteries at the Museum and the accompanying exhibit speak to Manitou Springs’ quirky reputation. It is a fun story to feature on the program and we have had a lot of fun putting together the related exhibit.”

The Manitou Springs Heritage Center is located at 517 Manitou Avenue and dedicated to the Preservation, Interpretation and Education about the History and Culture of Manitou Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. It is open Thursdays through Mondays from 12 to 4pm.
