The Manitou Incline-The Book and the Exhibit
Now Open at The Manitou Springs Heritage Center. Local author, Eric Swab’s, new book, “From Utility to Attraction: A History of the Mt. Manitou Park & Incline Railway” along with our spectacular Manitou Incline exhibit. The book describes the story of how the installation of a pipeline connecting a hydro-electric plant transformed itself into a famous tourist amusement for 81 years. In recent years, the Manitou Incline has become widely known for its extreme physical challenges to any health fanatic.
